The fashion industry is typically skewed more towards women as there was more pressure put on women to look a certain way. The concept of being fashionable has long been considered something that only women care about and men who took care in their appearance were seen as being ‘less manly’.
However, this is now changing for the better. There is more acceptance for men taking pride in their appearance and having an interest in fashion. It’s now celebrated and encouraged, and the fashion industry is taking notes.
Women’s fashion week used to be the focal point of all fashion news outlets and the knowledge about men’s fashion week was few and far between. However, men’s fashion week is now getting the recognition that has been long overdue and more fashion publications are paying it attention.

There are now more men’s fashion icons than we’ve ever seen before. They’re getting mentioned regarding their red-carpet outfits almost as much as the women are. We’ve seen men branching out more and being more adventurous in what they wear.

One of the most creative men on the red carpet at the moment is Lil Nas X. We constantly see him subverting the norm and changing what we view as typical when it comes to fashion for men. From his bright pink suits and cowboy hats to his gold robot outfit, you never know what you’re going to get next.
Timothee Chalamet is another stand out on the red carpet and at fashion events. He has a more understated look when it comes to fashion, but he still adds his own personal flair. Timothee loves an accessory so you can guarantee that if the outfit is run of the mill, he’ll be adding a little something to give it some flavour.
Men’s fashion in 2023
As we come into a new year, there will be new trends as well. For those who still like their fashion understated and classic, there is still something for you. The classic combo of jean shorts and a tee isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

While slim suits have typically been the top choice, all of that is about to change. You might have spotted some looser suits on red carpets recently and that is a trend that is set to continue. This is great news for those who like to keep things relaxed and oversized. There’s going to be a lot more relaxed fit clothing this year so keep your eyes peeled.
- Western
This trend comes through every once in a while, and it seems that 2023 is another one of those years. So, dust off those cowboy boots and dig out your suede jacket – we’re going Western.
It doesn’t always have to be as grandiose and that though. Why not invest in a shirt with some oversized Western stitching? Or you could always just dig out your denim shirt and call it a day.

Smart casual might be the dress code that sends your head into a tailspin, but it doesn’t have to be that way. All it means is that it’s clothing you can wear in any situation and not look out of place.
Well, that idea has now made it into the shoe industry. We used to have sneakers for day and a smart shoe for the night – and don’t worry, we’re not combining the two. We’re talking about a smart boot or smart sneaker that will work for all occasions.
Men’s fashion is really coming to the forefront of the fashion world and more and more men are taking notice. There’s no shame in taking pride in your outfits and general appearance and you might even be tempted to take a risk every once in a while.
