Shyam Pathak is an Indian television actor, popular known as ‘Popatlal’ for his role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Shyam Pathak was born in a simple middle class family in Gujarat. He studied acting at the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Shyam Pathak married to Reshami, a student of National School of Drama and his classmate. From their married life, they have one son named Parth and one daughter named Niyati. Shyam Pathak is the cousin brother of the popular Bollywood actor Vinay Pathak.
